Living a more environmentally friendly lifestyle is important to your health and the health of our planet. We have polluted the soil, water, and the air that we breath with toxic gases, pesticides, and fertilizers . It makes no difference where you live. As long as you eat, drink water and eat, you are affected by pollution.
Each person creates 4.6 pounds of trash per day, according to the EPA. If we reduce what we buy, reuse what we have, and recycle what we no longer want into new uses, we will reduce the amount of trash that we throw into the dump. With less trash comes less pollution.
Walking more and driving less is good for your waisteline and for our planet. It also saves money. Vehicle and industrial exhaust are major contributors to global warming. Our dependence on foreign oil has become an economic and security risk. Drilling and mining is polluting Mother Earth and us. We do have alternatives.
Ground, air, and water pollution is a byproduct of manufacturing, drilling, and mining. We urgently need enforcement of current restrictions and the installation of new technologies to clean up this contamination. Our jobs should not make us sick.
You don’t have to invest in solar panels or wind turbines to live a greener lifestyle. Try recycling your water bottles or donate that old coat to charity. Use biodegradable cleaners and collect your rain water. Drink organic milk and eat organic strawberries. Every little thing that you do will leave a cleaner planet for your children and grandchildren to come.
If we all live wisely and get involved by reducing, reusing, and recycling, our Mother Earth will begin to heal, and so will we. Think green and incorporate the three R’s into your lives.
